This paint job is loosely based on a painting called "The Ascention of Christ" by Peter Paul Rubens, one of my favorite classic Baroque Era painters. This scene depicts Christ as he is being taken down from the cross. In the original painting the "helpers" were people of all faiths and nationalities. I have taken the liberty of adding angels and some more heavenly creatures in to the final composition.
The customer was looking for something not so dark and demented, as he was a rather spiritual man. He gave me an enormous amount of artisitc freedom and this gave me a unique opportunity to paint from some of the references that have been very influential in my artistic career.

With the nearly unlimited font resources that we have today, very often you can find a type style that is almost exactly what you are looking for. Want to know how to make that font editable so you can get that extra tweak , add a bevel, etc? It's easy!
Using a vector program like Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW, open a new document, choose your font and type out your word.
This guitar was from a batch that BC Rich sent and told me that I could do whatever I want - FUN! This gave me the opportunity to go through my files and pull up some old mock up ideas that I had not had the opportunity to do yet. This eyeball idea is one of several that I got to turn into reality with this job.
